Begin with the end in mind

Self-help and business gurus often urge people to begin with the end in mind. One of my spiritual guides helped me to use this wisdom in my work with people in talking about faith. Blessings are the most obvious place to start; sometimes though our mere presence in times of joy and difficulty offer a balm beyond what we imagine. In the end no one wants to be alone. Begin here. Being present is a gift.
“Life is short and we have too little time to gladden the hearts of those who travel the way with us. So, be swift to love and make haste to be kind….and may the blessings of God be with you now and always.”
